For wedding services in the Fort Lauderdale area, a consultant can help with everything. A couple of consultants to choose from are Professional Wedding Planners, Inc. and A Memorable Affair Wedding & Event Coordination.
In Fort Lauderdale, three cake bakers are listed, Delicious Occasions, Flaky Bake, and Susie's Scrumptious Sweets. Under "limousines," four services are listed, Black Tie Limousines, In Style Limousines, Signature Limousines, and Southern Style Limousine Service. Grab a carryall on wheels and head to one of Fort Lauderdale's large shopping centers for the rest of your wedding items. The most popular, Sawgrass Mills is mentioned in guidebooks as "the world's largest mall of its kind." Shaped like an alligator, this mall is one of the hottest attractions in Florida, second only to Walt Disney World. You will find about 250 name brands like Saks Fifth Avenue and Ann Taylor outlet shops there. When your feet need a break, choose from about 100 different eateries like the Hard Rock Cafe.
The Galleria Mall also offers plenty of store selections like Cartier and Neiman-Marcus. In addition, for boutiques with the latest fashions and galleries with works from popular artists, head to Los Olas Boulevard. For bargain hunters, The Swap Shop and Circus Flea Market offer lots of wares and fun negotiation memories to share afterwards. For that special gift, Antique Row has about 150 shops full of goodies. The Fort Lauderdale Promenade's recently renovated $26 million environment and nearby Beach Place, located on the midway between Sunrise and Las Olas boulevards, also have dozens of restaurants, shops, bars and retail outlets.
For something different during your visit, enjoy having someone take you to dinner by visiting the Lighthouse Point Marina and eat at Cap's Place. After you board a boat at the pier, a board will take you to dinner on an island in the bush country. Listed among favorite dishes there are seafood, steaks, and hearts of palm. Cap's Place was formerly a "rum-running restaurant and gambling casino" in the 1920's. It is one of the oldest restaurants in the county and listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
